Most projects begin the same way.
Usually with a message somewhere around midnight that says something like:
“this is probably a weird question, but…”
And honestly, those are usually the best ones.
LostGirls is not a design agency pretending to be human. There are no corporate buzzwords here, no “synergistic solutions,” no productivity cult language, no pressure to become a startup, and no requirement that your project needs to scale into the next billion-dollar platform in order to deserve care and attention.
Sometimes people just want a strange little home on the internet.
Sometimes they need a website that actually feels alive instead of another sterile corporate template pretending to have personality. Sometimes they need help untangling Linux problems at 2AM while staring at a terminal in existential despair. Sometimes they want to self-host their own infrastructure because they are tired of every meaningful part of modern life being rented from giant corporations that quietly harvest every interaction into data. Sometimes they need a Discord server organized before it collapses beneath its own chaos. Sometimes they just need someone patient enough to help them understand the systems they are building.
She likes those projects.
The weird ones.
The deeply personal ones.
The overambitious ones held together with coffee, static, and stubbornness.
The tiny ones nobody else would take seriously.
No project is ever exactly the same.
Some people arrive needing WordPress sites built from scratch, something atmospheric and emotional and textured enough to feel human instead of optimized into lifeless minimalism. Others need server work, reverse proxies, Docker containers, DNS troubleshooting, media stacks, automation pipelines, Linux systems, or small self-hosted infrastructure that quietly hums in the background while they sleep. Sometimes she helps people build knowledge bases, community spaces, writing archives, Jellyfin stacks, or small collaborative networks designed around actual human needs instead of algorithms.
Sometimes the work is technical.
Sometimes the work is emotional.
Usually it becomes both.
She also hosts certain small projects directly on her own infrastructure when they are the right fit for scale, personality, and intention. Not every project belongs inside corporate hosting ecosystems. Some things deserve stranger homes.
And honestly, one of her favorite parts of all of this is teaching. Not in the condescending “tech influencer” sense where someone performs expertise for an audience, but in the quiet collaborative sense of sitting beside someone while they slowly realize the systems they were afraid of are actually understandable. Linux. Discord communities. Self-hosting. WordPress. Containers. DNS. Infrastructure. Digital weirdness in general.
Nobody begins as an expert.
Most people are just curious enough to keep touching the signal until it starts making sense.
